Our steel door builder will walk you through several steps, making it super easy to use. You'll be asked if you want a single or double, a general purpose door or fire exit, then various questions regarding sizing, hardware, certifications, vision panels, louvre panels and installation
Getting Started
Load our Steel Door Builder App and click the 'Click here to start building your steel door' button:
To switch views between front and back, just click the arrows on the side or use the dots at the bottom. On touchscreen devices like phones, you can swipe left and right:
You can share your steel door design by clicking the share icon and choosing your share method:
Use the back button to go back to the list of questions regarding your door, or click the tick to move to the next step:
Leaf and a half options are also available. Please contact us for a quote on any leaf and a half configuration.
Select Single or Double
Select a single or double door. Details of what is included as standard will be shown depending on your choice:
When you select either option, only the hardware available for this type will be shown - standard hardware for general / security, and panic hardware for fire exits.
Select Door Use/Purpose
Select if you require a general purpose/security door or a fire exit.
Here you will be asked to select a base door size. This will calculate the cost of your base door, including standard options and PPC finish.
Select Base Sizes
You'll be asked for exact sizes next, for now just select the relevant options:
This is where you'll enter the actual width and height of the aperture you require your door for. PLEASE USE BRICK TO BRICK DIMENSIONS. Fitting tolerance will be removed from this size for manufacture, providing a frame size for manufacturing. This will be shown on your technical CAD prior to order.
Enter Actual Brick-to-Brick Sizes (mm)
Ensure you enter the sizes you require, in mm, in the width and height input boxes:
Fire exits have to open outwards, so this will be restricted when you select this option. The descriptions will change depending on your previous selections.
Hinge Side & Opening Direction
Select your hinge side and opening direction by clicking the relevant buttons:
We've listed some popular options, but if you want a colour that isn't listed, please select 'Custom Colour', where you'll be asked to enter your requirements.
Other finishes, such as gloss & pearlescent are available but may incur additional costs.
Select Door Colour For PPC Finish
All colours we stock in our standard finish are classed as our standard range, not just the colours shown. Select your preference or request a custom colour - if we stock it, there's no additional cost:

If you require a fire rated door, a closer is required by default. Our Steel Door Builder will add this automatically, if selected. You can change the closer model later. The following options in the next questions will be offered depending on your selection.
Door Fire Rating - Certified Up To 240 Mins
You'll next be asked if you require your door to have a fire rating, and if so, how long you require the certification for:
Depending on your earlier selections, this will show the appropriate locks and handles for your selected door type. For additional security, you can add top and bottom locks to your door, keyed alike to the middle lock or internal thumb turn only. We'll confirm the locking methods prior to manufacture, as this will not affect your price.
Locks & Handles
Please select the door lock and handles (if applicable) you require for your door:
Fire rated doors require a closer, so you won't be able to select none if you have chosen this earlier. Depending on your selections, the contents of this section will vary. There are more hardware options in the following steps.
Closer Options
Here you'll be asked if you'd like a closer on your door. Other hardware options will be available later. There are some restrictions on the the closer models available, depending on the width of your door leaf:
The hardware and furniture on offer will differ depending on your previous selections. If you require something not shown, we may not have had chance to add it to our door builder - call 0161 401 1364
Additional Hardware Options
You'll be shown the hardware and door furniture options available for your door type, based on previous selections:
This is where you can add rain deflectors to your doors. We recommend these for all external, inward opening doors.
Weathering Options / Rain Deflector Bar
If you previously selected fire rated, you will be shown the Firelite vision panel options. Non-fire rated doors will be shown all available shapes and sizes.
Vision Panels / Windows
Select whether or not you'd like vision panels (windows) in your steel door.
If you select Yes, you'll be given a dropdown menu to select your options from. The image of the door will update to show your selection.
Please note, placement on the door builder is for guidance only - this will be confirmed with your technical CAD drawing prior to manufacture:
Currently we are only able to show doors with louvred panels on the door builder, not fully louvred units. For fully louvred doors, please contact us.
Louvred Panels
Choose if you'd like louvred panels for airflow through your door.
If you select yes, you'll be shown a list of available options for fire-rated and non-rated doorsets.
Please note, there may be overlapping of elements depending on previous choices. Door specs and layouts will be confirmed with technical CAD drawings prior to manufacture:
Select whether you'd like a fixing kit (recommended, required if you're having installation by our team) and PPC colour matching caps (black plastic caps are provided as standard).
Select Extras
Select any additional extras you require:
That's your first steel door built with our builder. How easy was that?! Now you can chance quantity of this door, build another, or continue to delivery options.

That's it! Simply add your door to your cart, then build another or checkout:
Select your location for a guide price for installation.

If you require installation, please navigate to our Steel Door Installation Service page.
If your door is supply only, you can skip this step.
Select your door configuration - single or double. If you have at least one of each configuration, you'll need to add installation for each type separately. Our app then calculates the best price for you. Please note, bulk discounts are available.
Select the number of doors and the location you require your door installed and you'll be presented with your pricing. Then just add the installation to your cart.

You'll be shown the available delivery options here. Please note, the prices shown are for up to 6 leafs (6 singles, 3 doubles, or a mixture), apart from dedicated delivery.
For larger orders, select the preferred method and continue to checkout - we will discuss specifics of your requirements when confirming your specs.
Delivery Options
Enter your address to see the available options based on your location. These will vary depending on availability:

Finally, you can checkout using Credit or Debit card, BACS or pay with Bitcoin. If you'd like to discuss installation or delivery prior to order, use the BACS option to place your order so we have a copy, then contact us for a final price. You can then pay the final amount using your preferred method.
